Café-Ouzeri Amalia

In the small village of Chondros Viannou, home to just 100 residents, Café-Ouzeri Amalia is a well-known stop for those exploring the area.

Owned by Giannis and Amalia Zacharaki, this cozy café welcomes visitors with warm hospitality, making them feel right at home.

It operates all year round, except during the olive harvesting season, as the owners are farmers actively engaged in agricultural work.

Since 2001, it has been a favorite spot for both morning coffee and evening drinks like raki or wine, accompanied by traditional meze. The menu includes Greek coffee, frappé, hot chocolate, and tea, perfect for chilly winter days.

Here, you can savor delicious green beans, stewed potatoes, slow-cooked goat in tomato sauce, and traditional tsigariasto (slow-braised meat), all prepared with authentic Cretan recipes.
